AAALAC
AAALAC stands for the ”Association for Assessment and accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care”. AAALAC promotes the humane treatment of animals used in research through a voluntary accreditation programme.
, | To earn accreditation from AAALAC, the institution applying for accreditation, must conduct an extensive internal review. Members of AAALAC’s Council on Accreditation then review the internal reports and conduct their own assessment. Companies that earn accreditation must be re-evaluated every three years in order to maintain the accredited status.
Ellegaard Göttingen Minipigs A/S was accredited by AAALAC in 1998 and re-evaluated in 2001, 2004 and 2007 ,where full accreditation was maintained. |
