Receiving instructions
Up to shipment the animals have been kept under following conditions:

Upon receiving the animals, care should be taken that the animals are gently handled. The pigs might be upset and stressed from travelling. Pigs in transport boxes are taken out and held on the arm like a child. Caressing and padding is part of good handling and if possible the pig will enjoy a treat.
Labels on the transport boxes indicate which pens the animals are from. If they are from the same pen they can be put together. Other animals can also be put together at their new facility if they are small or especially if they have just arrived. Please check Feeding and housing to view spacing requirements.
When approaching, the caretaker should squat so appearance is not too overwhelming for the animal. The animal should be fed moderately the first two days upon arrival and hereafter on a normal basis.

Temperatures: Depending on the use of bedding materials and the age of the animals, Göttingen minipigs should be kept at:
- 0-4 weeks old animals = 27°C
- 5-6 weeks old animals = 26°C
- 7 weeks to 3 months old animals = 22-24°C
- 4-6 months old animals = 20-22°C
- Older than 7 months = 17-20°C
