Biological products
A range of biological products and specimens as well as prepared animals is offered to support your research. Blood, serum or plasma of Göttingen minipigs can be delivered to your specifications. Also bio specimens such as skin biopsies or complete organs can be harvested and shipped. Among specially prepared animals we can offer you oestrus-controlled sows, a limited number of pregnant sows and castrates.
Serum Delivery
time: 2 weeks
Storage/shipping: The blood will be collected in plain blood tubes and centrifuged at 3076 G (4000 RPM for 10 minutes).
Serum is stored at -20ºC until packed on dry ice before shipping.
Plasma
Delivery time: 2 weeks
Storage/shipping: The blood will be collected in blood tubes with your choice of stabilizer and centrifuged at 3076 G (4000 RPM for 10 minutes).
Plasma is stored at -20ºC until packed on dry ice before shipping. If large quantities are required, the normal procedure will be to sedate larger pigs with Zoletil® 50 (Zolazepam, tiletamin) and then collect the blood.
If sedation is not allowed due to later analysis, please notify us when ordering.
Please inform us about: volume, stabilizer (sodium heparin/lithium heparin/ EDTA/others), gender, whether the plasma can be pooled and whether the plasma can be taken over several days.
Organs/samples of organs/teeth/skin biopsies/other tissues
Delivery time: 2 weeks
It is possible to get samples of organs/whole organs as well as teeth and other tissues from our minipigs. Please inform us about which organs you need, removal procedure and how to treat the organs during the removal, storage conditions and shipping conditions.
Please notify us if there are any special requirements (e.g. import permits) to be aware of or other conditions that must be fulfilled, before you can import the products to your country. Inquire about price when ordering. |
